Fundraiser for Rockhampton Trainer John Poots
Rockhampton trainer John Poots had his world turned upside down following a serious fall from one of his horses. John is known for putting others before himself and helping numerous other trainers. He and his family now need our help!!
John was in hospital in Brisbane for an extensive period, after undergoing brain surgery. Being a trainer, he isn't eligible for Workcover assistance, and with no other income John and his wife Louise faced enormous challenges.
The ATA, through QRISP, led fundraising efforts to help support John and his family.. More than $24000 was raised through the ATA and donations made via QRISP to assist John and his family, with 100% of proceeds going to help cover costs associated with John's recovery, medical expenses, travel for Louise, feed for their 10 horses and the day to day living costs for a household. Thank you to all those who were able to donate, it has made a considerable difference to John and his family during this difficult time.
