QRISP
Queensland Racing Industry Support Program
Background and About Us
QRISP operates within the Licencees' Assistance Association Incorporated, offering emotional and financial support to those working in the thoroughbred racing industry that find themselves needing help. Through injury or misfortune, we try and assist in ways to get them back on their feet, and most importantly show them that their industry cares about them.
The Licencees' Assistance Association began in the 1970's and has helped hundreds of Queensland racing industry participants over the last 50 years. Funding in the past came from the proceeds of fines and penalties paid by Licensees' (Trainers & Jockeys) along with sponsors, fundraising events and donations. In the early 2000's the Association lost the financial support of the fines and penalties so now solely relies on the generous support of the racing community.
QRISP is now funded by industry, with fantastic support coming from our sponsors and through fundraising initiatives. Our major asset owned by QRISP is our holiday unit at Kings Beach on the beautiful Sunshine Coast. The main purpose of the Unit is to offer our people a place they can go for some enjoyment and respite, where they can also enjoy a beach getaway with their family.
If you yourself, or you know of any thoroughbred racing industry participants that are in need of support it's a simple as letting QRISP know - the industry itself is our "eyes and ears", so just contact us at the link below or call Cameron Partington on
