Queensland Racing Industry Support Program
ABOUT US
QRISP is always looking for ways to help thoroughbred racing industry people throughout Queensland, not just when there is a desperate need. Boosting morale and enhancing the well-being of our people is also one of our goals, encouraging them to enjoy things aways from racing for both themselves and their families.
Keep an eye on our website for upcoming events and activities, and for more information about how we can help, please see our menu options. Suggestions and ideas are also always welcome via our 'CONTACT US' link below.
Fundraiser
Jockey/Trainer Brendon Newport, Sarah Robbins & family
The Queensland Racing Industry Support Program (QRISP) has set up a fundraiser for
Jockey/trainer Brendon Newport and apprentice jockey Sarah Robbins, who sadly lost their riding equipment and most of their possessions when a fire recently destroyed the truck/mobile home they used to travel and live in with their 5 children, when they were supporting and riding at our country tracks. Luckily they and their children were uninjured, however they lost most of their personal belongings, including Sarah's phone, in the fire.

Unfortunately they do not have insurance, so QRISP has kicked off the fundraiser with a $1000 donation. We encourage all who are able to donate to please do so, to help Brendan, Sarah and family get back on their feet after what has been a huge loss.
To donate, please deposit into the following bank account:
Acc name Licensees Assistance Association
BSB # 484799
Ac # 084333357
Please put "Brendon" or "Sarah" and your name in the reference/details.
All proceeds will go directly to Brendan and Sarah.
Jockey Availability
QRISP continues to find ways to support our Industry. The Jockey Availability Table, created and maintained by QRISP, goes a long way to address one of the biggest concerns facing our industry - jockey shortages. Trainers have asked for easy access to information about jockey's riding location, phone number and minimum riding weight. The Jockey Availability Table assists in making this information available for all jockeys who have registered their details, at the click of a button. Jockeys, this page also has important details about how to register and update you details.
See the Jockey Availability Page on this site (link also below) for more details.
Mental Health Support Programs
Unfortunately racing industry participants are not immune to mental health challenges. However, many of you may not be aware there are dedicated Mental Health Support Programs in place to offer racing industry participants access to free and confidential counselling and mental health supports. Please take a look at the new QRISP Mental Health Support page (via the menu or button below), to see details of what is offered and how to access these supports.
Caloundra Unit - Weekly Holiday Letting
QRISP owns and operates a fantastic 2-bedroom holiday unit at Caloundra. This unit is available for all thoroughbred racing industry participants to book, not just those needing assistance. Our unit is available for everyone to have the opportunity of a beach getaway.
The unit is able to be booked for weekly stays (except during the Christmas/New Year and Easter holiday periods), by thoroughbred racing industry participants to use with their families. The cost to stay at the unit for thoroughbred racing industry participants is at a hugely discounted rate of just $300/wk (usually approx $1600 per week).
Please click on the Caloundra Holiday Unit button below, for further details including checking availability and how to book.
A huge thankyou to our supporters
